Connan Mockasin – I’m The Man, That Will Find You

Connan Mockasin is one of life’s interesting characters, building and molding his own psychedelic personality over the past few years. Like a psychedelic Daniel Johnston styled personality in the fact that he creates his own imaginary world. On his first album he took us to the imaginary world of the Snat, but I’ve got a feeling that the next record is going to to be more on the romanticist side of psychedelia.

I’m The Man, That Will Find You feels like its the long lost track from Connan Mockasin’s long over due second album Caramel, Instantly it hits you with smooth lofi psychedelia, it almost feels like we are drawn into flowery dream, with Mockasin’s cartoon styled vocals that strangely to bring up the image Leo Sayer for unknown reasons. there is something also a bit Eagles like about the whole soft sounding production which is not to dissimulator to fellow New Zealanders Unknown Mortal Orchestra. I wait with anticipation for the album now.

About bigjeffbristol

I am someone from Bristol in England who is deeply obsessed with live music! its pretty much like an OCD styled obsession that means pretty much every night I am out. I like being down the fron for shows, because then I can feel the music pulsing through me and I am not going to lie to you, I like to dance a lot. Which can make me at times incredibly annoying because of being 6ft4 tall with blonde curly locks so I am the Thoroughly Annoying Blonde!. and I like to preach my geeky musical inertia to people!
