I have to say I need to doff my cap to Mr Elevator & The Brain Hotel for owning one of the best band names I’ve come across this year. The LA trio have got a name that makes me listen to them because the name is something that intrigues me, like where the hell did they get their name from.

you would be right in guessing that Mr Elevator could quite easily be from another era in time as Are You Hypnotised sounds like one glorious pastiche of The Doors with their thick stodgy keys and heavily reverbed vocals give them their lofi feel. It is very moog heavy sitting along with the crashing drums.

There is something of a drugged up swagger that rings right through the song, its almost like the spirits of Jim Morrison and Ray Manzareck are floating about, mixing with the Acid tinged elements of late Beatles that made people want to run into Strawberry Fields. Almost the perfect summer 60s flash back.
