Glass Gang – Waves

I came across this track thanks to Gold Flake Paint, just because I was searching around on twitter to see what was new and this came up. There is next to no information about Glass gang other then that they are a New York based trio.

To me what Waves brings to mind ripples of water in the fact that its so subtle that you dont notice much really going on. It’s waves of shoegazey guitars fuzzed out drones built with massive banks of synths and dazed vocals that float gently on the surface.

It very much feels like as if they are in the building process, not too dissimilar to the Hookworms debut,  in taking less obvious hooks that dig deep under the skin leaving these ears with a sun kissed feel. In the way it’s produced it kind of reminds me of Pink Floyds Comfortably Numb, this might be because the voice has an ear hugging effect to it and also the use of electronic drums have a Washed Out feel to them.

Ultimately this is just a demo track but it is very promising indeed!

About bigjeffbristol

I am someone from Bristol in England who is deeply obsessed with live music! its pretty much like an OCD styled obsession that means pretty much every night I am out. I like being down the fron for shows, because then I can feel the music pulsing through me and I am not going to lie to you, I like to dance a lot. Which can make me at times incredibly annoying because of being 6ft4 tall with blonde curly locks so I am the Thoroughly Annoying Blonde!. and I like to preach my geeky musical inertia to people!
