The Flamingods – Tashogoto

Art Is Hard signings The Flamingods are a band that are very deceptive, because with listening to Tashogoto conjure up images of vast persian desserts like the ones that are shown in the video and you would kind of imagine them to be riding around on high humped camels. not the kind of images you would expect coming from out of South East London.

there are definite nods towards the recent psych rock revival , with a more than stirring comparison that could be made to the super psychedelic swede’s Goat and the Saharan band Tinariwen. Both in the fact that they borrow heavily from the persian sounds of the 60’s. There is a high chiming guitar, dusty sounding percussion and hoof stomping grooves that build into walls of luscious melodies.

It very much feels like they are creating favella of a fiesta, with Tashogoto the flavours simmer beautifully like summer. Along with the new wave of psychedelia The Flamingods have found themselves comfortably at home.

About bigjeffbristol

I am someone from Bristol in England who is deeply obsessed with live music! its pretty much like an OCD styled obsession that means pretty much every night I am out. I like being down the fron for shows, because then I can feel the music pulsing through me and I am not going to lie to you, I like to dance a lot. Which can make me at times incredibly annoying because of being 6ft4 tall with blonde curly locks so I am the Thoroughly Annoying Blonde!. and I like to preach my geeky musical inertia to people!
