Here is a little taster taken from the upcoming debut album by Leeds psychedelic noise makers and one of the many highlights from last years Beacons Festival, Hookworms. It has to be said  I struggle to know how to sum up the beauty of In Our Time, its like as if they have taken the sun drenched psychedelia from Tame Impala and mixed it in with a bit My Bloody Valentines feed back.

The song is beautifully constructed to simmer with the huge walls of guitar feed back echoing until giving away to soft fuzzing beat. There is something almost Floydian about the whole song, maybe it’s because I think the vocals have something of the Syd Barret’s about them twisted in with a bit of Neu! styled repetitive rhythms.

Ultimately this conjers kind of summer sun set, you can imagine this being played with the light fading out burning people’s ears. If you have seen this band live then you will know what I mean, they really do like to go for the volume with ear ravaging effect.

their debut album Pearl Mystic which is out on Gringo records March 4th, hopefully they will be touring in April, hopefully they will crash invade Bristol.

About bigjeffbristol

I am someone from Bristol in England who is deeply obsessed with live music! its pretty much like an OCD styled obsession that means pretty much every night I am out. I like being down the fron for shows, because then I can feel the music pulsing through me and I am not going to lie to you, I like to dance a lot. Which can make me at times incredibly annoying because of being 6ft4 tall with blonde curly locks so I am the Thoroughly Annoying Blonde!. and I like to preach my geeky musical inertia to people!
