Indians – Cakelakers

This is the debut single taken from the latest 4AD signing and Copenhagen resident Sorren Lokke Juul otherwise known as his musical alter ego Indians. It has the feeling of a classic 4Ad sound as from the off there is the sound of a heavily delayed acoustic guitar and reverb soaked vocals.

There is a definite comparison that can be made with the likes of Kings of Convenience and Loney Dear in the way that songs atmospherics is set out to kind of bliss out. Very gentle lilting creates something of a relaxing element. what makes this work is the songs very simplistic arrangements, The use of strings lifts the song nicely giving the listener more to listen too.

Having heard a few of the other songs taken from Indians debut album Somewhere Else (due out the end of this month), it is going to be interesting to see where Indians will take us. He will also be over in UK for a couple of dates as follows.

30/1 Brighton, Prince Albert

31/1 Bristol, The Louisiana

1/2  London, The Lexington

2/2 Manchester, Trof Fallowfield

About bigjeffbristol

I am someone from Bristol in England who is deeply obsessed with live music! its pretty much like an OCD styled obsession that means pretty much every night I am out. I like being down the fron for shows, because then I can feel the music pulsing through me and I am not going to lie to you, I like to dance a lot. Which can make me at times incredibly annoying because of being 6ft4 tall with blonde curly locks so I am the Thoroughly Annoying Blonde!. and I like to preach my geeky musical inertia to people!
