Tomohawk – Stone Letter

so the other day I found out that Tomohawk had released a new single. if you are unaware of who Tomohawk are then they are one of Mike Pattons many millions of music projects. He has tendencies with some of his projects to go completely off the wall with experimentation in making records that can be as bizarre as hell and extremely Operatic.

So its nice to hear him strip out a lot of the experimentation and go for a more straight driven rock song, the sort of thing that brought him to the fore front with Faith No More. And it has been proven over the past couple of decades that this guy can really sing! you need look no further then Fantomas Directors cut album, where Patton can be heard singing the God Father Theme.

What we get here with Stone Letter is Mr Patton doing his best Tom Waits and Nick Cave style vocals with a good dollop of visceral growling and big chuggy guitars. this is Mr Patton coming back to rock and like hell he does. I expect pretty much more of the same from the bands up coming album. So welcome back Mr Patton

About bigjeffbristol

I am someone from Bristol in England who is deeply obsessed with live music! its pretty much like an OCD styled obsession that means pretty much every night I am out. I like being down the fron for shows, because then I can feel the music pulsing through me and I am not going to lie to you, I like to dance a lot. Which can make me at times incredibly annoying because of being 6ft4 tall with blonde curly locks so I am the Thoroughly Annoying Blonde!. and I like to preach my geeky musical inertia to people!
